Who I Am

CollideAI is built and run by one person. I am the data controller for everything described here.

What I Collect

  • Account details. You sign in with Google, so I receive your email address and a Google account identifier. I never receive your Google password.
  • Everything you write in a chat. Your messages in both story mode and texting mode, so the AI can respond and keep track of the conversation.
  • The characters and scenarios you create. Names, biographies, personalities and appearance descriptions.
  • Images the AI generates for you. The picture itself, plus the written description used to produce it.
  • Notes the AI keeps about your story. To hold a long roleplay together, the service automatically writes and stores running summaries of your conversation and a set of continuity notes: what your characters look like, how they behave, how they relate to each other, and which plot threads are still open. These are generated from your chats, they are not written by you, and they are stored alongside them.
  • Your settings and usage. Preferences such as whether AI images are switched on, and a daily count of how much of your allowance you have used.
  • How you move through the app. A record of actions rather than content: opening the sign-in screen, signing in or failing to, each step of the opening walkthrough, starting a story, sending a message, and how long a reply took to arrive. Each record carries your account identifier and your device's advertising ID. What you actually wrote is never part of it.
  • Billing information. Your plan, subscription status and the purchase token Google Play issues, along with the receipt data Google returns. Google Play handles the payment itself. I never see your card number.
  • Technical logs and crash reports. IP address, device and operating system details, and request timestamps from hosting and security tooling, plus a diagnostic report if the app crashes.

How I Use It

  • Run the service and keep your stories consistent over time.
  • Generate the text and images you ask for.
  • Apply daily usage limits and process subscriptions.
  • Monitor reliability, fix crashes, and prevent abuse.
  • See where people get stuck or give up, so I can fix the parts of the app that are not working.
  • Measure which of my own ads bring people to CollideAI, so I stop paying for the ones that do not.
  • Answer support requests you send me.

I do not use your chats, characters or generated images to train AI models, my own or anyone else's.

Mature Content

CollideAI is a roleplay service, and depending on what you write, the AI can produce sexually explicit text and images. Content like that is stored in your account exactly like any other message, it is sent to the AI providers listed below in order to be generated, and it is included in the continuity notes described above. If you would rather no images were generated at all, you can switch AI images off in the app's settings.

Who Your Data Goes To

I share data only with the providers needed to operate CollideAI, and only for that purpose:

  • Hosting and database providers store your account, chats, characters and images, and run the API your app talks to.
  • AI model providers generate the replies and images you ask for. Your recent messages, your characters and the continuity notes described above are sent with each request. More than one provider is used, and which one handles a given request depends on the content: material that one provider declines to generate is sent to another that will, so explicit content is generally handled by a different provider than everything else.
  • A web search provider is queried when you use the autofill button while creating a character, in order to look up who that character is. The name and biography you typed are sent as part of that lookup.
  • Google Play processes subscription payments, and Google Sign-In authenticates you.
  • An error monitoring provider receives crash and diagnostic reports. Screen recording is switched off, and the app is configured not to attach personal identifiers to these reports.
  • An analytics provider receives the record of how you move through the app described above, and passes it to the advertising platform I use to run ads for CollideAI, so I can tell which ads bring people who actually stay. Your chats, characters, images and continuity notes are never sent to either of them.

These providers are based in the United States, so using CollideAI involves transferring your data there.

Images and Link Privacy

Generated images are stored at long, randomly generated web addresses. The address is not published or listed anywhere, but it is not password protected either, so anyone you give the link to can open the image without signing in. Treat an image link the way you would treat any private link.

Stored On Your Device

The app keeps a copy of your chats and messages on your phone so it can open instantly and work while the connection is poor. That copy lives in the app's private storage and is removed when you uninstall the app.

What I Don't Do

I do not sell your data, show ads inside CollideAI, or read your chats for any purpose other than operating the service and investigating abuse or a problem you report. I do advertise CollideAI elsewhere, and I measure whether those ads work, which is what the analytics described above is for. Nothing you write is used for it.

Keeping and Deleting Your Data

Your chats, characters, images and continuity notes are kept for as long as your account exists, because that is what makes the memory features work.

You can delete your account from the app's settings. Doing so permanently removes your chats, messages, characters, scenarios, continuity notes, preferences and generated images. It cannot be undone.

Two things survive that deletion. Subscription and payment records are kept for accounting, tax and fraud-prevention reasons, with your account identifier stripped out so they no longer point at you. Technical logs rotate out on their own schedule.

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Cancel that in Google Play first, or you will keep being charged.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, object to how it is used, or receive it in a portable form. Email me and I will action it. Deletion is available immediately in the app, and I aim to answer everything else within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK and think I have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

CollideAI is not intended for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email me and I will delete it.

Changes

I may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and I will give notice in the app before a significant change takes effect.
